Altera claims it is the owner by assignment of U.S. Patent No. 6,097,211 for an invention called a Configuration Memory Integrated Circuit issued Aug. 1, 2000.
U.S. Patent No. 6,147,511 for an invention called an Overvoltage-Tolerant Interface for Integrated Circuits issued Nov. 14, 2000.
U.S. Patent No. 6,314,550 for a method of Cascaded Programming with Multiple-Purpose Bins issued Nov. 6, 2001.
Altera alleges that Zilog is infringing on the patents by making, using or selling integrated circuit devises, including the Zilog eZ80F91 MCU Series products and the Zilog ZNEO CPU Z16F Series products.
"As a result of Zilog's infringement of the '211, the '511 and the '550 patents, Altera has suffered monetary damages that are compensable under 35 U.S.C. � 284 adequate to compensate it for the infringement, but in no event less than a reasonable royalty, and will continue to suffer such monetary damages in the future unless Zilog's infringing activities are permanently enjoined by this Court," the original complaint states.
Altera is also seeking interest, attorneys' fees, costs, expenses and other relief to which it may be entitled.

The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge T. John Ward.
