Known for its lunch specials, one Taste of Orleans customer will remember the restaurant for its slick restrooms.
As Charles Gaines was exiting the bathroom, he claims he slipped and fell in a very dark hallway. He is suing Taste of Orleans and its owners for mental anguish and medical expenses, alleging there were no warning signs present, say court papers.

A Beaumont police officer has obtained a temporary restraining order against his department, effectively prolonging his scheduled Aug. 1 termination.
Officer Keith Breiner claims he is being fired for his assigned role in a prostitution sting at a local massage parlor. The officer says he was instructed to have sexual relations with the women at the massage parlor in order to make the felony case. Breiner claims he is now being terminated for doing his job.
Breiner's attorney, Larry Watts of Houston, filed the petition and TRO on July 24 in Jefferson County District Court. Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th Judicial District, granted the TRO that same day.

Tanna and Joseph Leger vs. Petron and Phillip Ward

On July 23, 2007, Tanna was traveling East on I-10 when she was rear-ended by Ward, a Petron employee. The blow caused Tanna's vehicle to be vaulted over the median and strike another vehicle. The plaintiffs assert Ward was driving in a negligently reckless manner and further fault Petron for negligently hiring and training him.
The plaintiffs are suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, lost wages, impairment and loss of consortium, plus actual damages and court costs.
