  • Randy Williams vs. Morgan Southern Inc.

    PA - Clint Basher, J - Donald Floyd

    On Oct. 31, 2007, the plaintiff claims he was injured while loading cargo at a Port Arthur dock when a Morgan Southern employee hit him with a company truck.

    The plaintiff is suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment, plus all court costs.

  • Kenneth and Darlene Glover vs. Savant Collision Center

    PA - Susan Oliver, J - Donald Floyd

    Claiming a salvage yard is located within fifty feet of a public road, a city code violation, the plaintiffs have filed a suit and a request for an injunction against the defendant.

    The plaintiffs allege at least three junked cars are strung about on the defendant's property, making it a public eyesore.

  • Dwight Stearne vs. Lockwood International and Donice Morace, Jr.

    PA - David Ferrell, J - Bob Wortham

    On Oct. 14 one of the plaintiffs was in an automobile collision with corporate defendant's truck driver, Morace. The suit does not give any details on how the incident occurred.

    The plaintiffs allege the defendant driver allegedly negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and are suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment, plus all court costs.

  • Robert and Lissel Jones vs. Suzanne Westmoreland

    PA - Adam Terrell, J - Milton Shuffield

    On Oct. Feb. 20 the plaintiffs were in an automobile collision with the defendant. The suit does not give any details on how the incident occurred.

    The plaintiffs allege the defendant allegedly negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and are suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment, plus all court costs.

    Dec. 9

    Big Wheel Development Inc. vs. Rural Pipe & Supply Inc.

    PA - Gary Riebschlager, J - Bob Wortham

    Sometime recently, the plaintiff hired Golden Triangle Pipe, who in turn hired the defendant as a sub-contractor. The plaintiff alleges that it paid the defendant in full after the defendant put a lien on its property.

    However, even after being paid $17,000, the defendant has refused to release the lien. The plaintiff is requesting an emergency hearing to settle the matter.

  • Al Victoria vs. Nighthawk Vacuum Services, LP

    PA - Shane McClelland, J - Donald Floyd

    A Beaumont man has filed suit against Nighthawk Vacuum Services, alleging racial discrimination and wrongful termination. Al Victoria claims that while he worked at Nighthawk, the company's employees used ethnic slurs, made racially inappropriate comments and made offensive or derogatory comments.

    The constant talk "created an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment, and interfered with Mr. Victoria's work performance," the suit states.

    Victoria is seeking unspecified actual damages, punitive damages, attorneys' fees, costs and other relief to which he is entitled.

  • Wendy Lavergne vs. Acadian Ambulance Service et al

    PA - Tommy Yeates, J - Gary Sanderson

    The plaintiff is suing the ambulance company for rear-ended her on April 9. The defendant and plaintiff was attempting to turn onto College from an I-10 service road when she hit.

    The plaintiff says she was forced to stop for oncoming traffic, and that's when the ambulance driver struck her vehicle.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant allegedly negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and are suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment, plus all court costs.

  • Chester Burgess, Jr. vs. A.O. Smith Corp. et al

    PA - Bryan Blevins, J - Gary Sanderson

    A Texas man has filed an asbestos suit on behalf of his recently deceased wife against 35 defendant corporations, claiming the asbestos-related disease with which she was diagnosed was wrongfully caused.

    Chester A. Burgess Jr. claims Annie I. Burgess was exposed to asbestos through Chester's work as an insulator, according to the lawsuit.

    Chester is seeking unspecified exemplary and actual damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.

  • Bernice Piggee, J - Brock Maintenance and Valero Energy

    PA - Cortlan Maddux, J - Gary Sanderson

    The mother and daughter of a former Brock Maintenance employee have filed suit against the company and Valero Energy Corporation, alleging their son and father died because of the companies' negligence.

    Bernice Piggee, Gary Piggee's mother, and Nacrecia Piggee, Gary Piggee's daughter, allege Gary reported for work and signed in at the Valero site on April 25, 2007, according to the complaint.

    When a co-worker discovered Gary's tools at the site, but did not know where Gary was, the co-workers were sent home and no further effort was made to find Gary, the suit states.

    Gary was found dead the next morning at the Valero worksite, the Piggees claim.

    No reason for Gary's death was mentioned in the suit.

    The Piggees are seeking actual damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs, attorney's fees and other relief to which they may be entitled.

  • Stag Parkway, Inc. vs. Windrider RV & Trailer

    PA - Michael Goodrich, J - Bob Wortham

    The plaintif is suing the defendant to recover $42,981.07 on a past due account.

  • Jeanne Greene vs. David Charpiot and Progressive County Mutual Insurance Co.

    PA - Clint Lewis, J - Milton Shuffield

    On Jan. 12, 2007, the plaintiff was one her way to Crystal Beach when she was rear-ended by a dump truck being operated by Charpiot. The plaintiff is suing the defendant driver for causing the incident and her insurance company for not paying her enough benefits.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant allegedly negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and are suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment, plus all court costs.
