  • Jerry Shropshire vs. L&B Transport and Lewis Ahlwardt

    PA - Scott Sanes, J - Dennis Powell

    On Aug. 17 the plaintiff alleges he was rear-ended by one of the corporate defendant's employees.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment.

  • Merry Ann Paltz vs. Rhorer-Moniotte Investments

    PA - Jonathan Juhan, J - Pat Clark

    On Aug. 17 the plaintiff alleges he was rear-ended by one of the corporate defendant's employees.

    On Oct. 29 the plaintiff Tanya was in an automobile collision, which was allegedly caused by the negligence of the defendant.

    The suit does not give any details on how the incident occurred.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment.

    The plaintiff is suing her insurance company for allegedly refusing to honor its policy for damages sustained during Hurricane Ike.

    The plaintiff claims the defendant breached its contract, committed DTPA violations and is also guilty of several insurance code violations.

    She is seeking actual and consequential damages.

    The plaintiff is suing its insurance company and one of its agents for allegedly refusing to pay at least a portion of its Hurricane Rita claim.

    The plaintiff claims the defendants breached their contract and are guilty of several insurance code violations.

    The church is seeking actual and consequential damages.

  • J.W. Garrett & Son Inc. vs. Orange Housing Development Corp.

    On Sept. 13 the defendant's apartment complex was damaged by Hurricane Ike. On Oct. 10 the defendant accepted the plaintiff's bid to repair the complex.

    On Nov. 7, after it received its insurance payment, the defendant allegedly reneged on the contract and notified the plaintiff it would not be using the company.

    The plaintiff alleges that the defendant never intending to use the company and only initially accepted the bid to obtain its insurance claim.

    The plaintiff is suing for exemplary damages under the DTPA.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment.
