The family of a deceased Jefferson County man has filed suit against two local doctors, alleging the physicians' negligence led to the man's death.
Hazel Adams, wife of Joseph Curly Adams, and Glynis Haggerty, daughter of Joseph Curly Adams, claim he died in April 2007 because Drs. Margaret Lang-Williams and Marsha Thigpen failed to properly treat his significant blood loss.
According to court documents, Joseph Curly Adams, 63, was admitted to Promise Specialty Hospital of Southeast Texas in Nederland on March 29, 2007, with a history of end-stage renal disease and renal cell carcinoma. He also had a status post nephrectomy, a history of tracheal stenosis with chronic repiratory failure, a history of valvular heart disease with subacute bacterial endocarditis, aortic stenosis, congestive heart failure and a history of dementia, the suit states.

A Beaumont couple has filed suit against Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital and two of its doctors, alleging the man suffered multiple injuries after doctors delayed seeing him for several hours.
Ronald Lee Phillips Sr. was admitted to Memorial Hermann on Oct. 29, 2006, after having a seizure at his home, and another seizure in the ambulance en route to the hospital.
The suit states that Phillips' doctors, Dr. Darella Cooper and Dr. Jeffrey Klem, were informed of his symptoms late that night but delayed seeing him until morning.

A railroad worker has filed suit against Econo-Rail Corporation and Trans-Global Solutions, alleging he was injured while working for the railroad.
James Walter Murray claims he suffered a shoulder injury while attempting to throw a defective switch.
Murray was working for Kansas City Southern Railway Co. at the Port of Port Arthur on Jan. 11, 2007, when he suffered a temporarily debilitating injury.
Murray has also filed a similar suit against KCS Railway for this injury.
