  • Bryan Lee et al vs. Texas Windstorm Insurance Association

    PA – Steve Mostyn, J – Bob Wortham

    The plaintiff is suing the insurance company for allegedly refusing to pay at least a portion of his Hurricane Ike claim.

    The plaintiff claims the defendants breached their contract and are guilty of several insurance code violations.

    The plaintiff is suing for actual and consequential damages, plus all court costs.

  • Letonjia Grant vs. City of Beaumont

    PA – James Payne, J – Milton Shuffield

    Jefferson County woman has filed suit against the city of Beaumont, alleging she sustained multiple fractures after falling from training equipment.

    Letonjia Grant claims she was undergoing a trainee activity when she fell from a defective trainee device on May 17.

    The suit does not specify what type of training the plaintiff was involved in or the device she alleges caused the injury.

    Because of the fall, Grant sustained a fractured back, right heel, left ankle and left wrist, incurred medical expenses and suffered severe physical impairment and loss of earning capacity.

  • Catherine Dupuis vs. Texaco et al

    PA – Keith Hyde, J – Donald Floyd

    On behalf of her deceased husband, the plaintiff is suing the defendants for exposing her husband to asbestos – who worked as a machinist for the defendant at its Port Arthur facility.

    The plaintiff's husband died on Oct. 26, 2007, from an asbestos illness.

    The family is seeking exemplary and punitive damages.

  • Jessica Ray vs. Monica Pink

    On Jan. 28, 2008, the plaintiff was traveling on Major Drive when the defendant struck the plaintiff's vehicle. After the wreck, the defendant allegedly fled the scene.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment.
