Four Star sued after vehicle collision

A Port Arthur woman claims she was injured and her vehicle was damaged after it was struck by a Four Star Communications vehicle that allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign.

Linda Jones filed a suit against Four Star Communications and George Edward Gibson on April 29 in Jefferson County District Court.

Jones says she was driving 1997 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck at the intersection of Ninth Avenue and 15th Street in Port Arthur when Gibson, who was driving a 1998 white international utility truck, failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign.

Because of the collision, Jones incurred medical costs, lost earnings and experienced physical pain, mental anguish, physical disfigurement and physical impairment, according to the complaint.

She says Four Star Communications and George Edward Gibson were guilty of negligence.

Jones is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus costs, interest and other relief to which she may be entitled.

Paul F. Ferguson Jr. of Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: E183-920.
