A total of seven new lawsuits were filed against insurance companies in Jefferson County District Court during the week of June 8 through June 12.
The following complaints were filed regarding Hurricane Ike:
Joseph and Mathilda Jolivet of 3020 Nova St. in Beaumont allege State Farm Lloyds denied their claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing them. Megaplay USA Inc. and Ken Matthews of 3500 Regional Dr. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of their claims for dwelling and contents damages caused to their property after Hurricane Humberto struck on Sept. 12, 2007. Megaplay and Matthews say Community Insurance failed to procure windstorm, hurricane and hail coverage when they paid for a builder's risk policy. Jessica L. Kenneth Joseph of 1795 Glasshouse in Beaumont alleges Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance Company denied a portion of his claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. Janet Dancer of 13397 Mesa Lane in Hamshire alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for structural and contents damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. Curtis and Melissa Casey of 1313 Boyd Ave. in Port Neches alleges State Farm Lloyds denied their claim for roof damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. J. Wilma Bias of 1649 East Ninth St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, foundation, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. TWIA denied the claim after its Vice President of Claims Reggie Warren assigned The Littleton Group and adjuster Reggie Warren to investigate, according to the complaint. Michael R. Jesse and Joyce Franklin of 1540 Auburn Dr. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, structural and contents damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. TWIA denied the claim after its Vice President of Claims Reggie warren assigned Four Seasons Claims Service Inc. and adjuster Michael Sterner to investigate, according to the suit. Michael R.
