A Louisiana man has filed suit against Union Pacific Railroad, alleging he was injured while working for the company.
Travis Jones says he was working as a conductor for the railroad on May 2 when he sustained serious bodily injuries, although he does not specify how the injuries occurred.
Jones does blame Union Pacific for failing to adequately inspect and replace a defective car and for allowing a bad-ordered car to remain in service.
Because of his injuries, Jones lost wages, suffered physical pain, physical impairment and mental anguish and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed July 7 in Jefferson County District Court.
Jones is seeking judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
