A total of five new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, Nov. 2-6, 2009.
The following complaints were filed:
Sally Garrett of 4467 Carnegie St. in Beaumont alleges Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance Company denied her claim for roof, water, wind, structural and contents damages caused to her house after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Capitol denied the claim after it assigned ICA Adjusters and adjuster Brian Wombacher and Cale Watts to investigate. Garrett will be represented by Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Glenn C. Hanson III and Sherry A. Hanson of 2435 Long St. in Beaumont allege Empire Indemnity Insurance Company denied their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Hansons will be represented by Kenneth W. Lewis of Bush Lewis in Beaumont and by Scott Renick of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A185-248.
Gloria and Clarence McCall of 1835 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur allege Ranchers and Farmers Mutual Insurance Company denied their claim for roof, water, wind, structural and foundation damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Rancher and Farmers denied the claim after it assigned Mission Adjusting and Risk Management and adjusters Michael Maggard and Maurice Foil to investigate. Michael R. Marvyl June Potter of 2849 Oleander Lane in Groves alleges Fire Insurance Exchange denied her claim for roof and other damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Mike Rubaiy of 515 22nd St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association partially denied his claim for wind damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied the claim after it assigned U.S. Staffing Adjusting Company and Sabine Claims Service and adjuster Timothy Weir to investigate. Rubaiy will be represented by Barrett Lindsay of Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B185-259.
