This Just In: Recent civil suits filed in Orange County District Courts

  • Darwin Norris vs. Steven Peais et al

    PA - Ryan White, J - Dennis Powell

    On April 25, 2008, the plaintiff was traveling north on Main Street in Vidor when the defendant rear-ended her.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, impairment, lost earnings and pain, plus attorney's fees.

  • Kaven Scott vs. Oscar May

    PA - Jill Chatelain, J - Pat Clark

    On Oct. 25, 2008, the plaintiff stalled while traveling on I-10 and was rear-ended by the defendant, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, impairment, lost earnings and pain, plus attorney's fees.

    On July 9, 2008, the plaintiff connected a trailer onto his truck that had been loaded by defendant with empty pallets.

    When he opened the trailer, many of the pallets fell onto him.

    Lofton alleges the defendant negligently failed to properly load the trailer and is suing for past and future mental anguish, impairment, lost earnings and pain, plus attorney's fees.
