A telephone company claims a towing company cut through its cable, causing it to spend more than $12,000 in repair costs.
Southwestern Bell Telephone filed a lawsuit March 11 in Jefferson County District Court against Neff Brothers Automotive, formerly known as Neff Brothers Towing and Recovery and Neff Brothers Recovery.
Southwestern claims the defendants hit an aerial cable causing severe damage while entering a drive at P100 to P400 in Vidor, causing Southwestern to replace the entire cable.
According to the complaint, Southwestern had to spend more than $12,495.42 to repair the cable.
Southwestern alleges negligence and trespass against Neff Brothers.
Southwestern seeks an unspecified judgment, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs, attorneys' fees and other relief the court deems just.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
