Illegal left turn leads to suit

An illegal left hand turn that resulted in an automobile collision has led Jimmy Sparks to file suit against Karen Compton.

The suit was filed March 9 in Orange County District Court.

Court papers show that on May 22, 2009, Sparks was traveling eastbound in the left lane of an unidentified Orange County road when Compton, who was traveling in the right lane, "began to make a left hand turn from the right lane and struck" Sparks.

In his suit, Sparks says he was injured and was forced to undergo medical treatments.

The suit does not state what injuries he sustained.

Sparks alleges Compton negligently failed to keep a proper lookout.

He is suing the company for past and future medical expenses, mental anguish and lost wages.

Sparks is represented by Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas.

The case has been assigned to Judge Pat Clark, 128th Judicial District.
