Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of four new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, March 15-19, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Page Cleveland of 2320 Long St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her a portion of her claim for damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Cleveland will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-304.

  • J.D. Newton Investment Corp. alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association has failed and refused to evaluate its claim for damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. J.D. Newton will be represented by Javier Delgado of The Merlin Law Group in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-262.

  • Anh Nguyen doing business as Super Stop Foodmart of 1905 College St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association refused to fully pay his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Nguyen will be represented by Riley L. Burnett Jr. and William T. Jones Jr. of Clark, Dean and Burnett in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A186-263.

  • Larry Parkerson of 235 Elgie St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Parkerson will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B186-303.
