A bank has filed suit against a Beaumont motel, alleging it failed to pay more than $9,000 in credit card expenses.
Discover Bank claims defendants Crown Motel and Zella Langham applied for a business credit card and made charges on the account.
However, since then, Langham and Crown Motel have failed to pay for their charges, according to the complaint filed March 15 in Jefferson County District Court.
"The payoff balance due by Defendants on the subject account as of November 24, 2009, was the amount of $9,205.51," the suit states.
In addition to the money it says it is owed, Discover is seeking at least $1,500 in attorney's fees, costs, post-judgment interest at the highest rate allowed by law and other relief the court deems just.
Shawn K. Brady of Messer, Campbell and Brady in Frisco will be representing it.
The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
Jefferson County District Court case number: E186-265.
