A total of five new complaints against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, March 22-26, 2010.
The following complaints have been filed:
Yolie Belt of 22195 Sattler Road in Winnie alleges Foremost County Mutual Insurance Company denied his claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to his home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Belt will be represented by Jessica A. Hallmark and Rocky Lawdermilk of the Law Office of Rocky Lawdermilk in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-368.
Juan and Maria Hernandez of 1029 Sabine Ave. in Port Arthur allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for damages caused to their property. The Hernandezes will be represented by Clint Brasher and Joe Muckleroy of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-342.
Mary E. and Carl Landry Jr. of 4955 Tupelo St. in Beaumont allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied his claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Landrys will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-378.
Edgar Maddox Sr. of 1414 Dixie Blvd. in Nederland alleges Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance Company failed to fully compensate him after he put in a claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Maddox will be represented by Clint Brasher and Joe Muckleroy of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E186-385.
Alphonse and Olivia Thomas of Jefferson County allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied the Thomas' claim after it hired Legacy Claim Services and adjuster William Gallemore to investigate, according to the complaint. The Thomases will be represented by Kurt B. Arnold and Paul Skrabanek of Arnold and Itkin in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: B186-338.
