A Jefferson County man has filed suit against a driver who he says rear-ended him.
Damon Young claims he was driving east on Calder Avenue on May 26 when defendant Xavier Collier struck the rear of his vehicle.
Because of the collision, Young incurred medical costs; suffered extreme physical pain, suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement and physical impairment; and lost earnings and his earning capacity, according to the complaint filed March 23 in Jefferson County District Court.
Collier negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to control his speed and failed to properly apply his brakes, the suit states.
In his complaint, Young is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Jennifer Job Seale and Kendall S. Cockrell of Provost and Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing him.
The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-371.
