Woman sues driver who hit her and people who owned vehicle

A Vidor woman has filed suit against the driver who struck her and the couple who insured and owned the vehicle.

Nancy Padilla filed suit against Pamela West, along with Theresa and Ronald Griffith, on March 24 in Orange County District Court.

Court papers show that on April 10, 2008, Padilla was traveling on Main Street. She had slowed to make a left turn when West, driving a vehicle owned by Theresa and insured by Ronald, allegedly failed to control her speed and "slammed" into her.

Padilla alleges West negligently failed to maintain a proper lookout and the Griffiths negligently entrusted the vehicle to West.

She is suing for past and future medical expenses, mental anguish and lost wages.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney Jonathan Juhan.

The case has been assigned to Judge Buddy Hahn, 260th Judicial District.
