Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County, April 12-16, 2010

A total of 11 new insurance lawsuits have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, April 12-16, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Linda Alexander on behalf of the estate of Irene Smith of 1909 14th St. in Port Arthur alleges State Farm Lloyds denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Alexander will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B186-569.

  • John and Cynthia Comeaux of 4441 Rolling Rock Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Company denied their claim for wind damages caused to their home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. According to the complaint, TWIA denied their claim after it assigned adjusters from Legacy Claim Services to investigate. The Comeauxes will be represented by Robert W. Loree of Loree, Hernandez and Lipscomb in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-538.

  • Adrian Gengo of 511 S. 12th St. in Nederland alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages caused to his house after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. According to his complaint, Gengo's insurance agent, co-defendant Linda Owens, failed to purchase windstorm insurance as Gengo had requested. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-554.

  • Steve and Lois Holloway of 5355 Mcanelly Drive in Beaumont allege Teas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents, foundation and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Holloways will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D186-555.

  • Melanie Howard of Jefferson County alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Jefferson County District Court case number: E186-560.

  • Veronica Isadore of 3217 42nd St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, water, wind, contents, foundation and structural damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.   • Sterling and Freida Landry of 5201 Lakeside Drive in Port Arthur allege Farmers Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Landrys will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont.   • Larry and Patricia Loville of 6079 Chandler Drive in Beaumont allege Farmers Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents, foundation and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Lovilles will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: B186-543.

  • Joann Redman of 2340 Hegele St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Farmers Insurance Company denied her claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused to her home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13 , 2008. J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing her.   • Allen and Doris Whitley of 12171 Shellhammer Road in Winnie allege Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Company denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents and structural damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.   • Hershel and Judy Williams of 17510 Wise Road in Winnie allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
