Auto collision leads to law suit

A man claims he sustained injuries after a driver struck his vehicle.

Richard Wiltz Jr. filed a lawsuit May 5 in Jefferson County District Court against Jose Garza and Lindolso Mireles.

Wiltz claims Garza and Mireles caused an accident on June 9 after they failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, lacked proper control and failed to timely apply their brakes.

Because of the collision, Wiltz experienced physical pain and mental suffering; incurred medical costs; lost his earnings and his earning capacity; suffered physical impairment, physical disfigurement and emotional stress; and lost his ability to enjoy life, according to the complaint.

In his complaint, Wiltz seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.

J. Trenton Bond of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing him.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: A186-793.
