Jay Hilton, a Beaumont resident, has filed suit against AAB Transportation and one of its truck drivers, Roderick Dickerson, who allegedly sped through a construction zone and struck his vehicle.
The suit was filed May 4 in Orange County District Court.
Court records say that on June 25, 2008, Hilton was traveling on Interstate 10 in Vidor and had "slowed due to heavy rains in a construction zone, when Dickerson ... failed to control his speed and slammed into plaintiff."
In his suit, Hilton says he injured his neck, shoulders and back in the incident.
He alleges Dickerson failed to keep a proper lookout and AAB was negligent in hiring him.
Hilton is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages, plus all court costs.
The plaintiff is represented by attorney Jonathan Juhan.
The case has been assigned to Judge Pat Clark, 128th Judicial District.
