Port Arthur woman sues driver over rear-end collision

A Port Arthur woman says she incurred medical costs after a driver rear-ended her.

Samantha Muller filed a complaint May 17 in Jefferson County District Court against John Puz.

Muller claims she drove on Highway 365 in Port Arthur on June 18, 2008, when Puz slammed into the rear of her vehicle.

Because of the accident, Muller suffered neck pain, left-side pain of her face and ear and body soreness; lost her earnings and her earning capacity; and experienced physical impairment and physical pain, according to the complaint. In addition, she experienced mental anguish and incurred property damages, the suit states.

She blames Puz for failing to keep a proper lookout, for failing to timely apply his brakes and for failing to maintain a clear distance.

In her complaint, Muller seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Jonathan C. Juhan in Beaumont will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
