A Port Arthur man claims he sustained severe injuries after an employee at Short Stop in Port Arthur disposed of waste water, causing it to be sprayed onto him.
Jacob Brealy claims he visited defendant Short Stop at 1248 Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur on Aug. 15, 2009, when an employee who was disposing of waste water or was proceeding to wash with extremely hot water caused the water to be sprayed on Brealy.
As a result, Brealy suffered severe burns and injuries; became hospitalized; incurred pain, suffering and permanent scarring; and incurred out-of-pocket expenses, according to the complaint filed May 20.
Brealy blames Short Stop and defendant Mahendi M. Karedia for causing his injuries, saying they negligently failed to properly supervise, provided no warning of their employees' conduct, failed to control the temperature of the water that could have been sprayed on customers and failed to take immediate action to lessen Brealy's injuries.
Brealy is seeking a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus other relief the court deems just.
