MARSHALL-An employee of Superior Energy Services has filed suit against the company alleging they allowed a hostile work environment and sexual harassment.
Arguing her civil rights were violated, Mindy Hasler filed suit against Superior Energy on June 11 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.
According to the complaint, Hasler was hired by Superior Energy in March 2006 and was quickly promoted to office manager. She alleges the Supervisor District Manager Ron Procell began sexually harassing her in November 2007 and continued until she quit her job on Aug. 11, 2008.
According to her complaint, the harassment included racist jokes, sexist jokes and perverted games. Hasler states that she complained to upper management and human resources but no action was taken.
Superior Energy Services is accused of failing to protect Hasler and refusing to do anything about her sexual harassment complaint. Due to the hostile work environment, Hasler states her termination amounts to a constructive discharge.
Hasler is seeking damages for lost income, humiliation, embarrassment, emotional distress, mental pain and suffering, fear and damage to her reputation, punitive damages and court costs.
Nacogdoches attorney Curtis B. Stuckey of Stuckey, Garrigan & Castetter Law Offices is representing the plaintiff. Jury trial requested.
U.S. District Judge David Folsom is assigned to the case.
