Sofia Dixson has filed suit against Don and Cindy Coynes and their business, Dune-Rite Construction, for shoddy repair work performed on her Hurricane Ike ravaged home.
On Sept. 2, 2009 Dixson contracted with the defendants to demolish and rebuild her home for $90,944.
Dixson claims the contractors did not properly lay the foundation and now her new home is sinking, court papers say.
She also claims the defendants disappeared after laying the foundation and now refuse to answer her calls -- leaving her no choice but to sue.
Dixson says she paid the defendants $65,000 in advance.
The suit accuses the defendants of fraud and negligent misrepresentation.
Dixson is suing for actual and consequential damages, plus all court costs.
She is represented by the Law Offices of Brian Mazzola.
The case has been assigned to Judge Buddy Hahn, 260th Judicial District.
