A Beaumont company has failed to pay more than $150,000 for sea vessels it used for months, according to a recently filed complaint.
Bolivar Offshore Services filed a lawsuit June 21 in Jefferson County District Court against Global Disaster Service.
Bolivar claims it provided equipment, vessels and services to Global Disaster from March through June. During the time period, Global Disaster racked up a bill of at least $167,700, which it still owes to Bolivar, according to the complaint.
"Defendant represented to Plaintiff's representatives that payment would be made timely for equipment, vessels and services, including $3,000 per day for use of vessels," the suit states.
Nevertheless, Bolivar has not received the money, and alleges theft liability and common law fraud against Global Disaster.
In addition to the money it says Global Disaster owes it, Bolivar seeks exemplary damages, costs, attorney's fees, post-judgment interest at the highest legal rate and other relief the court deems just.
Gary Linthicum of Wells, Peyton, Greenburg and Hunt in Beaumont will be representing it.
The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
