Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of five new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, June 21-25, 2010.

The following complaints have been filed:

  • Alvin B. and Myra L. Goldman of 5185 McAnelly Drive in Beaumont allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied a portion of their claim for roof and water damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Goldmans will be represented by Carlos E. Solis of Solis and Smith in San Antonio and by Danny R. Scott Jr. of the Law Office of Danny R. Scott Jr. in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B187-110.

  • Angelita and Javier Gonzalez of 2011 Woodrow Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Exchange denied their claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Gonzalezes will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D187-132.

  • Katherine Haynes of 1108 W. Railroad St. in China alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Haynes will be represented by Wyatt P. Snider, Jason M. Byrd, Justin G. Sanderson and Russell W. Heald of Snider and Byrd in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D187-127.

  • Mary Ann Johnson of 3210 Corley St. in Beaumont alleges Fire Insurance Exchange denied her claim for contents, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Johnson will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by Michael R. Ramsey and Greg Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B187-116.

  • Moses Johnson of 1626 18th St. in Port Arthur alleges National Fire Security and Casualty Company denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Johnson will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A187-134.
