A man claims he suffers from back, neck and right leg pain after a driver struck his vehicle.
Juan Jones filed a lawsuit June 29 in Jefferson County District Court against Judith Williams.
Jones claims he drove south on Pine Street at its intersection with Weiss Street on Aug. 20, 2008, when Williams failed to yield the right-of-way and struck the passenger side of his vehicle.
In addition to his pain, Jones incurred medical costs and experienced physical pain, suffering and anguish because of the accident, according to the complaint.
Jones blames Williams for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply her brakes, failed to avoid the incident, failed to yield the right-of-way and failed to maintain her vehicle.
In his complaint, Jones seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the highest applicable legal rate, actual damages and other relief to which he may be entitled.
David J. LaRue of Loncar and Associates in Beaumont will be representing him.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
