Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County District Court

A total of four new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, July 5-9, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Sharon Fontenot of 4380 Brandon St. in Beaumont alleges National Lloyds Insurance Co. denied her claim for structural, roof, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. National Lloyds denied Fontenot's claim after assigning Compass Adjusting Services and adjusters Michael Vieregg and Ray Feight to investigate it, according to the complaint. Fontenot will be represented by Amber L. Anderson of The Mostyn Law Firm and by John P. Mabry Jr. of Dunnam and Dunnam in Waco. Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-218.

  • Luis Garcia and Maria Valencia Mendoza of 1949 11th Ave. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claims for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The plaintiffs will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-216.

  • Gary and Tammie Isbell of 3707 Ave. H in Nederland allege Allstate County Mutual Insurance Co. denied their claim for contents, foundation, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Isbells will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D187-213.

  • Jessie and Wanda White of 2280 Bourbon St. in Beaumont allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim contents, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Whites will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: E187-204.
