A Beaumont resident has filed a lawsuit after being in a collision allegedly caused by another driver's improper turn.
Willie Ray Williams filed suit against Huynh Pham and Nghia Nguyen on July 21 in Jefferson County District Court.
The incident occurred on June 25, 2009, as Williams was traveling as a passenger north bound on Pennsylvania Street in the far left lane.
Defendant Huynh Pham was also traveling north bound but in the far right lane. Williams states that Pham turned left from the wrong lane and entered the path of the Williams' vehicle.
Defendant Pham is accused of negligence for failure to keep a proper lookout, failing to control speed, failing to maintain a clear and reasonable distance between vehicles, and failing to stop, yield, and grant immediate use of the intersection to the Williams vehicle.
Defendant Nghia Nguyen is accused of negligently entrusting the vehicle to Pham.
Williams is seeking damages for medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, physical impairment, loss of earnings, mental anguish, interest and court costs.
Williams is represented by Beaumont attorney Jeffrey T. Roebuck of Roebuck, Thomas, Roebuck & Adams. Jury trial requested.
Judge Milton Gunn Shuffield is assigned to the case.
