Orange County resident sues over motor vehicle collision

Orange County resident Kyle Dubose has filed a lawsuit against CTL Transportation and Jimmy R. Dickerson after Dickerson failed to yield the right of way causing a collision.

The lawsuit was filed on July 21 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the complaint, the motor vehicle collision occurred on July 19, 2009, at the intersection of Highway 366 and 32nd Street in Groves.

Dubose claims the collision occurred after Dickerson made an unsafe right turn and failed to yield the right of way.

Dickerson is accused of failing to maintain a proper lookout, failing to maintain proper control of his vehicle and failing to timely apply the brakes.

The plaintiff states the defendant CTL Transportation is responsible for the incident under the theory of respondeat superior.

Dubose is seeking damages for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, loss of household services, medical expenses, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, interest and court costs.

Dubose is represented by Tommy L. Yeates of Moore, Landrey in Beaumont.

Judge Donald J. Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
