Hired to remodel a Holcomb home, Duhon Designer Homes & Remodeling claims Orange County couple Rex and Ann McCorquodale refuse to pay the company for its work.
Duhon filed suit against the McCorquodales on July 26 in Orange County District Court, alleging it is owed more than $65,000.
Court papers show the couple hired the company in November 2007. As the remodeling work progressed, the couple allegedly requested additional work requiring extra materials and labor.
In its suit, Duhon claims it paid for the extra expenses out-of-pocket and submitted the invoices to the McCorquodales afterwards.
"The McCorquodales were frequently at home during the entire work process," the suit states. "All work performed by Duhon was approved in advance."
The company alleges it is owed $65,674 in unpaid invoices.
Alleging breach of contract, the company is suing for actual damages and all court costs.
Duhon is represented by Houston attorney Graig Power of the Cokinos, Bosien & Young law firm.
The case has been assigned to Judge Dennis Powell, 163rd Judicial District.
