Barge worker claims head injury from fall


GALVESTON - Anthony LeBlanc has filed a lawsuit against AEP Energy Services Inc., American Electric Power Services Corp. and Diamond L Services Inc. over injuries he reportedly sustained while working on a barge.

According to the suit filed Aug. 13 in Galveston County Court No. 1, LeBlanc was hired by Diamond L Services to work on barges belonging to AEP Energy Services and American Electric Power Services Corp.

On May 21, LeBlanc claims he was cleaning one of the barges when he fell 40 feet and injured his arms, legs, neck, back and other parts of his body, as well as sustaining a closed-head injury.

LeBlanc alleges he consequently experienced severe pain, mental anguish, physical impairment and disfigurement thus seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Arnold & Itkin LLP.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County Court No. 1 Judge Mary Nell Crapitto.
