A Beaumont man has filed suit against the driver who he claims struck him, then fled the scene.
Tracy Hergert claims he was walking down Evalon Street on Oct. 19, 2008, when defendant Dalbert Lafleur, who was driving a vehicle owned and insured by defendant Paulette Lafleur, struck Hergert, then fled the scene.
Because of the collision, Hergert incurred medical costs; lost earnings and his earning capacity; and suffered physical impairment, pain, mental anguish and disfigurement, according to the complaint filed Oct. 7 in Jefferson County District Court.
In his complaint, Hergert is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
He will be represented by Jonathan C. Juhan of Beaumont.
