Rusty Allen Hartt has filed suit against Beaumont resident Richard Smith and his employer, United States Industrial Services, for causing an automobile collision.

The suit was filed Oct. 20 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the suit, Smith struck Hartt on Feb. 10 somewhere in Jefferson County while in the course and scope of his employment.

The suit does not state where or how the incident occurred.

In his suit, Hartt alleges Smith is negligent of failing to keep a proper lookout and that United States Industrial Services is negligent for entrustment.

He is suing for his past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, pain, lost wages and impairment.

The plaintiff is represented by Beaumont attorney Adam Terrell of the Weller, Green, Toups & Terrell law firm.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
