Houston resident Timothy Young is suing Beaumont local Jessica Scott, who allegedly ran a stop sign and struck his vehicle.
The suit was filed Oct. 26 in Jefferson County District Court.
Court papers show that on May 3 Young was traveling south on Cochran Street and proceeding through an intersection at Oregon when Scott allegedly ran a stop sign and collided with his vehicle.
In addition to running the stop sign, Young accuses Scott of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and apply her brakes in time.
Young claims he hurt his neck in the collision and is suing for past and future mental anguish, pain, medical expenses and lost wages.
Beaumont attorney John Parsons of the Lindsay Law Firm is representing him.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
