Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of three new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, Oct. 18-22, 2010.

The following complaints have been filed:

  • Brian Rice of 7999 Coller Road in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association improperly paid his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Rice will be represented by Jason M. Byrd and Russell W. Heald of Snider and Byrd in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A188-638.

  • Nathaniel and Margaret Spiller of 2210 Forest St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Spillers will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B188-631.

  • Steve and Debbie Williamson of 2058 Earl St. in Beaumont allege National Security Fire and Casualty Company denied their claim for roof and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Williamsons will be represented by Steven C. Toups of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A188-626.
