A Beaumont corporation has filed suit against the two businesses it claims failed to pay it more than $50,000 for work performed.
Air Comfort claims it provided labor and materials worth $55,297.11 to Reeves Development in July, August, October and November of 2009.
Since Air Comfort performed the work at defendant Reeves' property at 2114 Highway 16 South and at a Louisiana location, it has yet to receive payment, despite repeated demands it has made, according to the complaint filed Nov. 2 in Jefferson County District Court.
In addition to Reeves Development, Air Comfort names Houma Dollar Partners as a defendant, saying it should be considered the same enterprise as Reeves Development for the purposes of the suit.
Air Comfort alleges breach of contract against the companies.
In addition to the money it says it is due, Air Comfort is seeking pre-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Air Comfort will be represented by Glenn H. Steele Jr. and Gordon Friesz of McPherson, Hughes, Bradley, Wimberley, Steele and Chatelain in Port Arthur.
The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
