Jefferson County resident Jeff Campbell has filed suit against Winnie resident Lillie Shinnick, alleging the woman is responsible for his father's death.
On behalf of the late Jacques Campbell, Jeff Campbell filed the wrongful death suit Nov. 29 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the petition, on Dec. 2, 2008, Jacques Campbell died at his home "as a result of the negligence of defendant."
The suit does not state how Jacques Campbell died or how Shinnick is responsible.
"The occurrence and death of Jaques Campbell was proximately caused by the negligence of defendant," the suit states.
Jeff Campbell is suing for all wrongful death damages allowable under law.
He is represented by Beaumont attorney Michael McGown of Bechenstein, Norvell & Nathan.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
