Area resident Michelle Conrad is suing a man she claims ran a stop sign and injured her and her two minor children.
Conrad filed the suit against Deette Eccles, a Nederland resident, on Dec. 21 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to her suit, on Jan. 14, 2009, Conrad and her children were passengers in a vehicle traveling east in Nederland.
They were passing through the intersection at 20th Street and Canal Street when Eccles allegedly failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and slammed into them.
In her suit, Conrad accuses Eccles of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout, apply his brakes and obey traffic laws.
She claims she and her children suffered back and neck injuries and seeking to recover damages for their pain, medical expenses and mental anguish.
Conrad is represented by Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
