Pedestrian claims she was hit by car, sues driver

A Beaumont woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck her as she walked down the street.

Wendy Francois-Richard claims she was a pedestrian in Beaumont when defendant Cruz Montes, who was driving a vehicle owned by defendant Ramiro A. Solis, slammed into her on Feb. 9, 2009.

The suit does not state where the incident occurred.

Because of the accident, Francois-Richard incurred medical costs, lost earnings and her earning capacity and sustained physical impairment, physical pain and mental anguish, according to the complaint filed Jan. 12 in Jefferson County District Court.

In her complaint, Francois-Richard is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Jonathan C. Juhan of Beaumont will be representing her.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
