Man sues after head-on vehicular collision

Orange resident Gregory Kumm has filed suit against Port Neches local David James, alleging he struck his vehicle head on a few weeks ago.

The suit was filed Feb. 14 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the petition, on Jan. 24 Kumm was traveling on Highway 73 in Bridge City. He had stopped in a southbound turning lane to turn onto John's Road when James struck him head on, severely injuring him.

The suit faults James for negligently traveling at an excessive speed and for failing to take evasive action.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Clay Dugas represents him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
