Beaumont resident Michael Blanchard is suing Tama Douglas for allegedly striking a vehicle in which he was a passenger.
The suit was filed March 9 in Jefferson County District Court.
Court records show that on March 24, 2010, Blanchard was a passenger in a 2000 GMC Sierra traveling south on Renaud Street. The vehicle was passing through a stop sign when Douglas allegedly failed to yield the right of way and caused the vehicular collision.
The suit further alleges Douglas negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, obey traffic laws and apply the brakes in a timely manner.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Beaumont attorney Anthony Malley II of Moore Landrey represents him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
