Irving resident Calvin Brown has filed suit against Kirbyville resident Rafaela Gutierrez for causing a collision in Beaumont last April.
The suit was filed April 6 in Jefferson County District Court.
Court records show the collision occurred on April 10, 2010, somewhere in Beaumont because of Gutierrez's alleged negligence.
However, the suit does not state where or how the incident occurred.
The suit accuses Gutierrez of negligently failing to yield the right of way, apply his brakes in a timely manner and keep a proper lookout.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Houston attorney Nick Maram represents the plaintiff.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
