Tyson employee sues after slipping in chicken waste

MARSHALL - A Tyson employee has filed a lawsuit against the company after he was allegedly injured by a fall at work.

Raymond Willie filed suit against Tyson Foods Inc. on April 15 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.

Willie states he suffered an injury while at work on May 16, 2009, when he slipped and fell on chicken waste.

He accuses his employer of negligence for failing to provide a safe work environment, failing to properly train, supervise and instruct employees regarding safe operations, failing to warn of a dangerous condition and failing to initiate and maintain adequate safety programs.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $75,000 in damages for physical pain, physical impairment and disability, emotional distress, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of household services and interest.

Willie is represented by Reese P. Andrews of Andrews & Andrews of Nacogdoches.

A jury trial is requested.
