CVS Transportation, truck driver sued for causing auto collision

Beaumont resident Ashley Williams has filed suit against CVS Transportation and its employee, Joanne Gilley, who allegedly struck her vehicle while changing lanes.

The suit was filed April 20 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to her lawsuit, on Dec. 2 Williams was traveling on Major Drive in Beaumont when Gilley "changed lanes when unsafe and violently struck" her vehicle.

The suit faults Gilley with negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and also alleges CVS should have known he was a "reckless" driver.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. D189-812
