Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

Two new lawsuits were filed against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims in Jefferson County District Court, April 18-25, 2011.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Danny Mathews of 2081 Leight St. in Beaumont alleges Farmers Insurance Exchange, Texas Farmers Insurance Co. and Fire Insurance Exchange minimized their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Mathews is represented by Danny Scott Jr. of Beaumont and attorneys from Solis & Smith PC in New Braunfels. Jefferson County District Court case number: D189-826.

  • Eugene and Sheila Tyler of 3840 East Sixth St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association minimized their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Tylers will be represented by John Pat Parsons of Lindsay, Lindsay and Parsons in Beaumont and by David Cade Bernsen of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-813.
