Stop sign runner sued for causing collision

Individually and on behalf of her minor daughter, Heather Harrison has filed suit against Inez Knight for allegedly running a stop sign and causing a collision.

The suit was filed May 17 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 9, 2010, the plaintiffs were injured when Knight "failed to stop at a stop sign and struck plaintiffs."

The suit does not state where the incident occurred.

The plaintiffs allege Knight negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and apply her brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiffs are suing for their alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Dan Ducote Jr. represents them.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
