Woman claims wreck injuries make it hard to care for miniature horses, livestock

A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims failed to keep a proper lookout, colliding with the vehicle in which she was riding.

Alicia and Sean Manuel claim Alicia Manuel lost her health and her ability to be free of pain and worry because of the collision with defendant Steven Eugene McAdams.

In their complaint, the Manuels do not state where the collision occurred or how it happened.

They do mention that Alicia Manuel experienced physical pain and mental anguish, incurred medical costs and property damages, sustained physical impairment and incurred costs caring for her livestock, including her miniature horses, because of the accident, according to the complaint filed May 11 in Jefferson County District Court.

Because of the collision, Sean Manuel lost his wife's society, consortium, companionship, affiliation and services, the suit states.

The Manuels blame McAdams for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to timely apply his brakes, failed to turn to avoid a collision and failed to yield the right-of-way.

In their complaint, the Manuels are seeking a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus actual and exemplary damages and other relief the court deems just.

Keith M. Fletcher of Simmons and Fletcher in Houston will be representing them.

The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
