A woman has filed suit against the company whose vehicle she claims a man was riding in when he lost his life.
Stacy Weaver claims Robert L. Weaver was riding in a vehicle owned by defendant Gillespie Lumber Co. on May 20 when the vehicle was involved in a collision.
Because of the collision, Robert L. Weaver lost his life, according to the complaint filed May 23 in Jefferson County District Court.
Before his death, Robert L. Weaver suffered physical pain, physical disfigurement, physical impairment and mental anguish, the suit states.
Robert L. Weaver leaves behind a minor daughter, Taylor Nicole Weaver, who Stacy Weaver filed the suit on behalf of. Because of her father's death, Taylor Nicole Weaver suffered mental anguish and lost her dad's society, consortium, love, companionship and inheritance, the suit states.
Robert L. Weaver's estate incurred funeral and burial expenses, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Stacy Weaver seeks an unspecified judgment.
Paul Ferguson Jr. of Provost and Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing her.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
